Introducing the Spotlight: Things and People We Love

We all experience bouts of FOMO (fear of missing out) from time to time.

More often, we have only a little time for ourselves, and want to experience or read something special, and really don’t want to go down the wrong path with the precious little “me” time that we have.

Some lucky ones among us have plenty of time and exquisite taste, and just don’t want to waste the moment on things that are not best-of-breed.

And too often the daily news is grim and even though staying smart and sharp demands that we follow it, sometimes it’s a tough slog, and we need a flash of good news to stay sane.

To address all of the above, a few weeks ago at Dandelion Chandelier we launched the Spotlight section on our homepage. Here you’ll find:

Poems – we’ll share a couple each week that reflect the current season in the voices of poets throughout the ages

The Art Gallery – you’ll find selected images from shows we’ve seen, so that you can decide if you want to go, or at least see some of what you missed

Fresh Read – once a week we’ll share a book we’ve just finished that we think you’ll love

Eatery Row – if you’re looking for a perfect place for a business meal or some other occasion where things need to be just so, these restaurants have been road-tested by our team and they won’t let you down

Sparks – they glow and shine, and often get something brilliant started. Want to put your resources to work behind a company or organization doing something cool and innovative with respect to community uplift and philanthropy? We’ll showcase one that you should know about

Sparklers – every day around the world, people choose to shine in ways large and small; we’ll celebrate sparklers each week who caught our eye and inspired us with their generosity

Our criteria for what gets into the Spotlight? It’s got to be smart, fresh and elegant. We hope this new area of the site will be of service to you. Let us know what you think!

And let’s choose to shine.
